Accreditation of food products safety management systems

Certification of food safety management systems is provided by certification bodies to organizations that demonstrated that they implemented a system to ensure food safety in the food chain.

ISO 22000 determined the requirements for a food safety management system that combines interactive communication, systematic management, HACCP preconditioning program and principles to ensure food safety in the food chain.

A certification body applying for ISO 22000 accreditation must comply with ISO / IEC 17021, ISO / TS 22003 and other additional international requirements detailed in the Specific Accreditation Requirements for the FSMS scheme.

ISO 22000 is a food safety management system that can be applied independently to other management systems or integrated with existing food safety systems such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certification.

This standard can also be applied to related organizations such as manufacturers of equipment, packaging materials, cleaning products.
